Gilma Elvina Logelin, 91, of Clearbrook, died Sept. 19, 2008, at Good Samaritan Home in Clearbrook.

 

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley with the Rev. Larry Doorman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.


Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born March 8, 1917, to Ole and Randi (Hatli) Bjerke in Hill River Township near Fosston. Later, the family moved to the Clearbrook area. She attended Beard Country School. She married James Logelin Dec. 15, 1942, at the home of her parents. They bought and farmed the Logelin Family Farm. In 1963, they moved to Minneapolis, where she worked at Nevens Cleaners until retirement. They attended Soul's Harbor Church in Minneapolis for many years and in later years, they attended Park Assembly in St. Louis Park, Minn. They were very active in church activities and senior groups. They liked to travel.

She loved southern gospel quartet music. After her husband died Jan. 31, 1991, she and her friends played Rummikub often.

She moved back to Clearbrook in 2001 and lived in Brookfield Apartments until December 2004 when she moved to Good Samaritan Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheryll (Wayne) Torgerson of Clearbrook; son, Don (Karen) Logelin of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Gilbert, Percy and Orval Bjerke; sister, Irene Fellman; and a great-grandson.
