About Gladys Elethea Adams
Dr. R.J. Smith, Coroner for Cardiff held an inquest at the Coroner's Court, Cardiff this week, touching the death of Mrs. T.R. Adams of Heywood Road, Pill who was found unconscious in the bathroom of the residence of her brother, Capt. W. Thomas. Dr. Mitchell gave it as his opinion, after a postmortem examination, that death was due to an abscess formed on the "cords of the heart". A verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence.

'Among many manifestations of sympathy, the funeral took place at Easton-in-Gordano yesterday of Mrs. Gladys Adams, whose tragic death previously reported occurred at Cardiff on Friday last. The deceased was the eldest daughter of the late Capt. William Thomas (Bristol Channel pilot) and Mrs. Thomas, of Avon Villa, Pill, and the wife of Mr. Reginald Adams of Pill of the firm of Messrs. H. H. and S. Budgett, Bristol. The cortege left the residence of the deceased and proceeded to St. George's Church, Easton-in-Gordano. There a service was held, at which the combined choirs of Pill and Easton-in-Gordano assisted and the hymns sung were 'The radiant morn hath passed away' 'O God our help' and 'How bright these glorious spirits shine'. Mr. W. R. Oram was at the Organ, and played voluntaries suitable to the occasion. The following personal friends of the bereaved husband acted as bearers: Messrs. H. Brown, H. D. Powell, J. J. Pearce, A. Rice, H. Cooper and H. Gerrish. The principal mourners were: Mrr. Reginald Adams, husband, Mr. Alwyn Adams, son, Captain William Thomas, brother, Capt. George Thomas, Capt Bert Thomas, and Mr. S. J. Thomas uncles, Mr. F. J. Adams, E.S. Adams, C. Buck, brothers-in-law. Capt. A. F. Carey, uncle, Messrs. W. G. Ray, E. S. Ray, Sidney Ray, Philip Dickens and Sam Thomas cousins. Among a large number of sympathising friends who followed in the procession and also at the graveside were Capt. J. W. Dickens, Capt. T. Hunt, Messrs. E. Born, A. F. Ellis, C. Pearce, G. Dickens, G. Austin, W. D. Selway, E. Gerrish, Stephen Hook, E. C. Rowland and R. Adams, T. Alexander, Walter Case, W. Brown, J. Stokes, H. Lawson and a number of ladies. There were many beautiful floral tributes. The funeral arrangements were carried out by George Adams (uncle) of Barry.'
