About Glee Anita Anita Rivard

Glee was born in Spencer, Iowa two years after her older brother Ray. When she was one, the family moved to Stevenson Location near Hibbing, Minnesota. Glee was one of the special people in our lives and family. She had her hair up in braids all the years we kids were growing up. She was a woman of so many good virtues and had a deep abiding love for her children and grandchildren even though they all lived far away. She taught her nieces a lot about being a lady in how they should act and react. There was a strong sentiment on being a "Walters", too, and the women of her family background believed we are all attached firmly to nature, the moon, seasons, and God's plan. Things were planted by the moon, watch your health at certain times of the moon and season changes, and many more stories about living and surviving. She was a wonderful cook and set a fell and lovely and proper table with cup and saucer, proper forks for each ting to eat, and serving dishes. You do not put pots and pans on a table. And you do not use a big old coffee mug at her table! She loved caring for anyone in the family who was ill and needed a little extra care or privacy to recover. She would make wonderful trays of food and carry them to the sick bed. She was romantic and loved the thought of "being in love" and sharing fun and times with a loved one. She did not believe in divorce, and it was a hard decision for her to make in her own personal life. She did remarry and was in love. She loved to recall the days when her children were small in Stevenson and all their activities. Her boys were in the military and she was so extremely proud of each of them as men and as people, as she was a very patriotic woman and mother. She also welcomed each of our children as they came along. When she had to sell her home and move to Exeter, New Hampshire to live with her daughter Anita, it was very hard for her and all her Minnesota family. We have so many many memories of her and can always draw on some of her advice when we need it.
