Obituary of great uncle Glen K Engel as copied from the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune (slightly paraphrased)

Glen K Engel 70, 540 17th Avenue North died Tuesday, September 19, 1979 at St Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield where he had been a patient the past 20 days.

Mr Engel was born January 2, 1908 in Wisconsin Rapids, a son of Mr and Mrs William Engel. He married Maxine Sweetland May 5, 1932 in Wisconsin Rapids.

He worked 44 years at Consolidated Papers Inc., retiring in 1973 as foreman of the machine shop at Biron Division. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Machinists.

Survivors include his wife Maxine, one son James, Apple Valley, Minnesota; one daughter Peggy (Larry) Steinke, Wisconsin Rapids; one brother Charles, Evanston, Illinois; two sisters. Wilma Marzofka, Rudolph and Rose Kegler, Wisconsin Rapids; Five grandchildren, Larry, Cheryl, Robin, and David Steinke; and Gretchen Engel, Apple Valley. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at the Taylor Funeral Home, the Rev Robert Buckman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetary.
