OBITUARY: Golden Nephi Nelson of Mancos, Colorado, died Friday at the Cortez Hospital in Cortez, Colorado. Born November 15, 1902, at Bryce, Arizona, he came to the San Juan Valley with his parents in 1903. He was a trader on the Navajo Indian Reservation for some 40 years, moving to Mancos to retire in 1970. Survivors include his wife, Ina of Mancos; two sons, Elton Anderson of Homer, Alaska and Wallace Anderson of Mancos; three sisters, Martha Mattice of Atascadero, California, Pearl Biggs of Kirtland and Julie Wheeler of Waterflow; two brothers, Leland Nelson of Fruitland, and Pratt Nelson of Farmington; 12 grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. Funeral services, under the direction of Ertel Mortuary in Cortez, will be held at the Kirtland LDS Chapel Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Farmington.
