Biography
"Goody Bassett was hanged as a witch in Stratford, Ct. in 1651. According to one source, the townspeople then accused someone else, and the husband of either that woman or a third targed sued for defamation and won, ending the accusations in Stratford.
"Her husband, Robert Bassett, apparently didn't fight the accusations against Goody, or not effectively. After her death he left for Hempstead, L.I., and died there in 1670."

”In 1651 a woman named Goody Basset was executed in Stratford after making a confession, probably under torture, which also intimated there were other witches in the area, hinting at “others who hold their heads full high.”
