About Gopalakrishnan Ramachandran
He was born in Quilon and studied in the Maharajahs college in Trivandrum - completing his Masters in English Literature with a Gold medal. He then taught in the same college for a year before writing the examination for the Railways Service and joining them in 1935. The next 35 years (until retirement in 1970) were spent in the Railways criss crossing the country on postings. In 1970, he bought an apartment in Besant Nagar in Chennai and continued to be busy with the Railway Rates Tribunal for a few years and parallely being the President of the GOCHS colony.
