Gordon Adam (1935– 2013)

Brief overview:

Gordon (78), and his wife Lorraine Adam (63), were stabbed to death in their bedroom while sleeping, in their house in Bethulie, Free State, on February 9, 2013. Police spokesman Maselela Langa said Gordon and Lorraine were attacked and stabbed to death by an unknown number of suspects. He said the couple's son called police after he couldn't get hold of his parents. Langa said the suspects opened the couple's safe and stole firearms. He says they then fled with the couple's bakkie. Six suspects of the "Born To Kill" gang were arrested. During the arraignment, some of their comrades, identifiable by their tattoos, told the Volksblad newspaper that three of the six accused men had to carry out these killings to be inducted into the gang.
