Gordon Bazzard (1938 - 2013)

Brief overview:

Gordon (75), was stabbed to death, in bed next to his wife Annette (67), on 28th January 2013. He was stabbed several times in the chest and neck with one of their own kitchen knives.

The murderers gained access to their house, which is in a complex, in Bloemfontein around 02h00, by breaking down a security gate. They tied up Annette and taped up her mouth, after forcing her to give them her PIN code to her bank account.

After the perpetrators left, Annette managed to call her daughter and was taken to hospital. The two attackers, who fled in the couple’s Mercedes Benz with jewellery, bank cards and cellphones, were later arrested by police. R1000 had been withdrawn from the attacked woman’s bank account.
