About Gordon Raymond Robinson
Grew up in the tiny town of Asotin on the family farm/saw mill/logging/freighting site. Helped on the farm and logging from a very early age. Drove logging truck and combine in high school. Went to school in a horse drawn wagon/sleigh. Played basketball in H.S. and later some semi pro basketball. Joined the Naval Air Force during the war and became a navigator after trouble as a pilot in landing. Graduated from Washington State University as a civil engineer. While visiting a fellow civil engineer student met his wife to be. Upon graduating, worked in Alaska until getting a job as a civil engineer. Worked many projects (highways, dams, jetteys, etc as a project engineer - in a number of locations in British Columbia, Montreal, Washington state, and California. Eventually became a VP in charge of estimating for his international company's Canadian subsidiary. Lived in many locations on the West Coast of the USA and Canada, as well as Montreal. Traveled widely in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central America, South America and Asia. Retired to Washington state then Oregon after running a closely held family business for some years following retirement as a civil engineer.
