About Grace Prudden
Grace's parentage is unknown.
She was the wife of the Rev. John Prudden. They had five children: John about 1672, Sarah about 1684, Joseph about 1692, Johanna about 1692 and Keziah about 1694.
One source states that the latter four children were from a second wife, Abigail, but most of the evidence points to Grace as the mother.

Disputed Origins ==John Prudden's wife's name is not known for certain. She is not the daugher of Joseph Judson. One authority gives her name as Grace; another, Abigail. <ref>Carman, Albert Pruden, compiler, Thomas C. Carman and Phebe Pruden Carman; a family history, with historical and genealogical notes on branches of the Carman, Machet, Pruden, Kitchel and some related families., published 1935. Reference page 41</ref> That his wife's name may have been Grace is supported by this source which refers to an extract from the almanac of Rev. John Prudden: "AnnoDom. 1694 June 24, This, by John and Grace Prudden executoris of their mother's will to each of their sisters Joanna, Mary, Abigail, Elizabeth, Sarah, Mildred of their annual revenue..." (remaining portion doesn't further identify Grace). John had no sister, Grace - only the sisters mentioned; thus it would appear that the Grace of the almanac extract is likely to be his wife.<ref>Prudden, Lillian Eliza, Peter Prudden; a story of his life at New Haven and Milford, Conn., with the genealogy of some of his descendants, published 1901.
