Josiah, the son of Josiah, married Grace Holloway of Marshfield, Mass., in November, 1666, — Rehoboth and Marsh field being then contiguous towns ; though the increase of inhabitants, and the incorporations of precincts and parishes into towns, has long since made the two places socially far distant. He settled in Norwich, Conn. Josiah married in November 1666, at Lisbon, Connecticut[3] (recorded at both Marshfield and at Norwich, where they settled) to Grace Holloway, daughter of William Holloway.[4][2] She died May 9, 1727 at Norwich, Connecticut.[5][6]
A duplicate profile claimed the marriage took place on 4 Nov. 1666 in Norwich (without evidence, source was user-submitted).[7]
Josiah Read was born "say 1643," possibly at Weymouth, or at Boston, Massachusetts.[2] Apparently the record of his birth has not been located. His next younger sibling was born at Weymouth, and his next older sibling at Boston. He was a son of William Read and Susanna Hayme.[2]
