About Grandma Gene
Genevieve's mother died when she was 14 months old, so she was taken to her grandparents home (Carlson's) in Bear Lake, Michigan and raised by them until she was 16 years old, when she went to Chicago and lived with her father who never remarried. She went to the Bear Lake public high school, and then the last two years of high school was at Harrison High school in Chicago, IL. She attended beauty school, received a license, but never worked as a beautician. She later worked and retired as an Elliott Fisher bookkeeper for the Chicago Park District.
