Grove Adams Crittenden was the daughter of Parker Crittenden and Elizabeth "Libbie" Clara Reed Henry. Grove married Carl August Windels on February 10, 1896 in Marin County, California. They moved to France where their children, Elizabeth and Crittenden Churchill Windels, were born. By 1920 Grove was back in the United States with her children and all three were using the surname Crittenden. Carl is no where to be found. In death records and other official documents, Carl's name was sometimes listed as Charles August Windels and sometimes Charles August Crittenden.
Elizabeth married Albert Mott Ackerman in Manhattan in 1921. They were the parents of Barbara and Albert Crittenden Ackerman.
Crittenden Churchill married Kathryn Kryder in 1927 in Summit County, Ohio. They had no children
