About Guillem II Jordà, comte de Cerdanya

William Cerdagne († 1110 ) nicknamed Jordan after being (re) baptized in the river of that name, Earl of Cerdagne ( 1095 - 1099 ) and Tripoli ( 1105 - 1110 ), son of William Raymond Earl of Sardinia and Sancha of Barcelona.

He accompanied the first crusade with Raymond de Saint Gilles , who was the half brother of his mother. When he died, using the pretext of the absence of the eldest son of Raymond Bertrand and the minority of his second son Alphonse Jourdain, William called himself Count of Tripoli. A few years later, Bertrand arrived in the Holy Land to receive the inheritance and Baldwin I of Jerusalem arbitrated succession by dividing the county into two. William was assassinated and Bertrand reunited the County.
