About Gussie Gertrude Olinsky

Polish State Archive Marriage record: There is a 1891 polish record for Gitla Blima Kadecka and Dawid Orlik getting married in Biezun.

Ellis Island Ship Manifests: On June 8, 1900 David Olik (28) arrived at Ellis Island on the Milano from Drobin, Poland. He was joining his brother-in-law, Jos. Rosenstein at 56 Broome St.

On May 27, 1904 David Orlick (32) arrived at Ellis Island on the Petoria from Biecsthy. He was joining his brother-in-law, Josef Rosenstein at 56 Broome St.

On April 1, 1906 Gitel Orluk (32) arrived at Ellis Island with Shoel (9), Ester (10), Marie (8), Elie (4) and Sheye (11m) on the Amerika. They last resided in Biezun, Poland and were joining their husband/father David Orluck at 56 Broome St.

1920 US Census: David (53) and Gussie (46) Olinsky lived at 315 East 101 Str. Manhattan, NY with children Charles (26), May (21), William (19), Morris (15), Anna (13) and Harold (7). Everybody was born in Russia except for Morris, Anna and Harold who were born in NYC. David worked in a storeroom in the pushcart industry with Charles. May was a hemstitcher in a ladies waist firm and William was a typist for an oil firm. Gussie, Charles, May and William immigrated in 1904 and David immigrated in 1900. They were naturalized in 1905.

1930 US Census: Gussie Olinsky (53) lived at 1000 Whitlock Ave. Bronx NY with children Anna (23) and Harold (17). Gussie was born in Warsaw and the children were born in NY. Gussie immigrated in 1906. Anna worked as a bookkeeper and Harold worked as a clerk.

Charles seems to match with Shoel on the ship manifest, Marie with May, and William with Ellie. Sheye might be Morris but the 1920 US Census says that he was born in NY but Sheye seems to have come over from Poland.
