About Gustave E Danielson

From Sonja Danielson Patrick about Gus:

"Gus played the organ for 22 years at this church, was a Deagon and taught Bible Study every Wednesday night. He also directed the choir at this church. Gus also was a piano teacher out of the home at 3081 Waldorf Avenue. In 1957 his right leg was amputated below the knee due to a medical complication. When X-ray was first used, it was used for everything. He had radiation treatments for excema and was burned by these treatments. After twenty years the leg had still not healed and turned into cancer. Even though he had this terrible burn on his leg he worked as a carpenter. His specialty was as a finishing carpenter. He was a marvelous musician playing the organ, piano, and accordion He played with the symphony at the Robin Hood Dell in Philidelphia, Pennsylvanian along with Kurt Nord, his cousin, who played the bass. John Walter Danielson, and Oscar Danielson were also excellent musicians and played the organ, piano, and accordion. They would play Swedish polkas at Vasa and all had a great time.

Uncle Gus was the closest person I ever had to a father. He invented many things but never bother to get a patent. He invented the first self portrait camera trigger. He also invented the 3D Camera which I still have. He read every book at the Dudley Grange Library, including children's books. He graduated from Stillman's Business School at an accountant. He worked as an accountant but preferred working with his hands doing carpentry because of his respect for Jesus. He spent a great deal of time taking me to concerts, museums, art galleries, the planetarium, and the zoo."
