Services for Helen Lasher Howell, 71, of 1001 Ridge Road, who died Sunday at Tompkins Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today in Lansing United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Ludlowville Pine Grove Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Mrs. Howell was a native of Fleischmanns. She was a teacher for more than 40 years at Lansing Central School, where she taught several different grade levels. Mrs. Howell was a 1941 graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and was certified to teach high school mathematics and English. She was a former town of Lansing representative to the Tompkins County Board of Representatives.
Mrs. Howell was a member and former choir director of Lansing United Methodist Church and a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Lansing Senior Citizens. Mrs. Howell was a member of the Wednesday Bridge Club.
Surviving are her husband, Charles F.; two daughters, Marcia Weaver and Patricia VanEvery, both of Lansing; a son, John C. of Lansing; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
E.C. Wagner Funeral Home, Ithaca, has charge of arrangements.
