Haley Augustus 'Gus' SHAW died in 1968.

Which raises the question: Why did he keep Arnold Shaw, my father's brother, and all of Augustus's other children, but give up my father Jack for adoption? I can't wait to hear this story ...

Another obvious question is IF my father's real name was Jack Shaw, then why didn't he just used his real name as his brother did or why did the military have to give him his legal name of Jack Harry Finley? I can't wait to hear this explaination too …

and ... Why does the 1940 Oil Through, Independence Arkansas Census show my father as Jack Finley laboring on the Pearce Family Hog Farm from age of 13 (1935) until age 18 (1940 census states this) as a 'farm laborer' which matches his HOME residence on his 1941 military application of Oil Through, Independence, Arkansas IF the military had to give him his legal name and he picked it in 1941 as being stated in another 'story'?

And lastly … what about that pesky Social Security Application where my dad lists his birth parents as Orbie Finley and Bertha Lee? Can't wait to hear yet another fabrication about that one ...

FYI: I am currently in contact with DNA tested members of this line along with SHAW male Y-DNA testers from this ancestry and have had no confirmations of "HIGH SHAW DNA MATCHES" that would prove a grandparent connection to Haley Augustus Shaw for myself as of 7/21/2019. Some direct Shaw family members of this Plymouth Mass. Shaw lineage have August Shaw's family info as their grand mother recorded and are searching for any birth information for Arnold Shaw which they do not show, or mentioning adoption records. Meanwhile - I am not a DNA match but for the exceptions listed below as I am already related to this line via maternal and paternal lines as they now stand with current parentage - nor my immediate family members - as I have these communications that can be verified from these Shaw family members who Haley Augustus Shaw was their uncle. I am not a close DNA match to descendants of this line on Geni either.

Exception 1. I do obviously have cousin Autosomal matches in the lower cM's but that can be for Shaw or other ancestors I share with these matches.

Exception 2: The ONLY higher cM matches are only for the descendants of Arnold Shaw - who was my father's brother who HAD BEEN adopted by Haley Augustus Shaw at age 3, which would be correct since Arnold would have been my uncle so his children and grandchildren my 1st and 2nd cousins as the DNA is showing.

There is evidence that Haley Augustus Shaw may have adopted other children during his lifetime besides Arnold.

These same family members can prove that Haley Augustus Shaw died in 1968 not 1929 as my sibling is stating as so it fits the narrative because my fathers parents died when he was about 4 or 5 - and there is no record on how they died - but August 'Gus' Shaw was alive for 40 years after my father's birth.
