About Hannah Butler

Biography

Hannah (Cheney) Butler was born in mid-March of 1689 (Gregorian calendar) in Roxbury, which was not yet a part of Boston proper. In 1712, in Roxbury, she married Simeon Butler, a great-grandson of the first of the Butler family on Martha's Vineyard, Nicholas; she died on Martha's Vineyard in 1769, probably in (or near) Edgartown, where she was buried on 28 February 1769.
