About Hannah Fuller
Historical records
"Mary Fuller" appears as the wife of Lemuel Fuller in the Fuller Book. However, it is clear that the name "Mary" comes from a birth record for a supposed son George B Fuller, born in 1811. As discussed elsewhere, this is likely incorrect; very probably two generations of Lemuel Fullers have been collapsed. Census data from 1810 backs this up.
Thus, Lemuel Fuller, Sr.'s wife's name is technically unknown. Neither given name nor surname is known, and no marriage record has been found.
DNA evidence
There is strong evidence that several people thought to be descended from Lemuel Fuller of Colchester has DNA overlap with others who are descended from either Fullers or from Crockers. A Chappell descendant, who is also a Crocker descendant via Hugh Crooker , also has very similar DNA overlap. The conclusion is that descendants of Lemuel Fuller are also descendants of a Crocker.
Parallel migration
Hannah Crocker was picked up as potentially being the wife of Lemuel Fuller for several reasons:
- They were born in the same town;
- Hannah's siblings migrated to New York State, just as Lemuel did;
- There was no record of marriage for Hannah or Lemuel;
- Hannah would have been nearly nine years older than Lemuel, which would make her relatively early death before 1782 plausible.
If the story that she's the mother of Hannah and Elizabeth Fuller is correct, then she probably died before 1782. It is also possible that she lived on and went to live in Philadelphia or Camden County, NJ. But there's no evidence of that as of yet.
