Mrs. Mary Gilbert, 77, of 2939 Orchard Avenue, a resident of Grand Junction for 33 years, died at 12:50 a.m. today in Medicenter. She had been in ill health for five years.
Mrs. Gilbert was the widow of Samuel Gilbert, a construction worker, who died here on November 23, 1943. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Mrs. Gilbert was born Hannah Mary Manley, on November 18, 1892, at Kirk. She spent her early life there. The Gilberts were married at Wray on April 27, 1916, and lived in Kirk until they moved to Grand Junction.
She is predeceased by one daughter Erma Irene Gilbert who passed away as an infant on April 20, 1922 at Stratton Colorado at the age of 1 year, 7 months and 21 days.
She is survived by three sons, Delbert and Carroll, both of Grand Junction, and Jack of Tonopah, Nevada; three brothers including Ralph Manley of Fruita, Colorado, Robert Earl Manley of Nampa, Idaho and Arch Manley of Granby, Colorado; three sisters, including Mrs. Orpha Romkee of Grand Junction, Colorado, Berniece Griffin of Natoma, Kansas and Elsie Knudsen of Canon City Colorado.
Hannah Mary Gilbert was born in Kirk Colorado the second child of twelve children born to David Stephen Manley and Isabella Barbara McNair. Mary Gilbert beloved wife,mother and sister passed away on June 4, 1970 in Grand Junction Colorado.
