Name changed from Graf to Grof.
Married in Germantown, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
Moved his family to Frederick County during the year of 1765, settling in the Frederick County area. Is also said they lived in Piney Run Hundred, Maryland.
He and his wife had a total of seven children. There is confusion as to possibly another marriage, and additional children being involved through that wife as well.
Granted 197 acres of his fathers land in 1746. Later sold his land to a brother of his, David.
Have not located the family cemetery.. was still around in 1912 when it was mentioned the graves were cut with their initials only.

Hans Groff Jr. otherwise called John Hans Groff, was the son of Hans Groff (Graf) and Susanna Orndorff. The Grafs also used the surname Grove. According to the http://files. usgwarchives.net/pa/lancaster/family/graf0001.txt website, John Hans Graf (Groff) and his wife Elizabeth Carpenter had 5 children. George Graft (Graf) was the third child.
John Hans Grove and his eldest son, Jacob Graf (Grove), signed the Oath of Fidelity and Support to the State of Maryland at the march Court 1778, Sharpsburg Hundred, Washington County. (Washington from Frederick in 1776) see Revolutionary Records of Maryland (Rumbough) page 14.
John Groff is listed with the DAR as ancestor #A048822.
