Hans Jonker (1956 - 2013)
Brief overview:
Hans (57), a mathematics teacher, was murdered, in his Dalpark home, on 20th September 2013, when an unknown number of attackers invaded his house. He was shot dead between 18h00 and 21h00, and the only thing 'missing' confirmed the SAPS, reportedly was a cellphone.
According to a good friend of Jonker, who wishes to remain anonymous, she was at the house during the nightmare incident. “We were packing to leave with my son for a holiday trip to East London to visit my partner who had just moved there, when three men jumped the outside wall,” says the friend. “I was at the time in the bathroom when I heard a shot fired. When I went to investigate, one of the robbers pointed a firearm at me. “I was fortunately only roughed up a bit.”

Additional Biographical Information:
Jonker was a mathematics teacher at the School of Achievement in Elspark, Boksburg, and had dedicated 26 years of his life teaching mathematics to pupils with special needs and learning disabilities.
“He was more than just a dedicated and experienced teacher, he was also friend, and this is a tragic loss to the school,” says Tinus du Preez, principal of the school.
