"Death of Mr Harold Cripps From our Correspondent Umtali, Tuesday.

MR HAROLD CRIPPS, of the Park Farm Vumba, died in the Umtali Hospital yesterday. The second eldest son of the late Hon. Lionel Cripps, G.M.C.,first Speaker of the Southern Rhodesia House of Assembly, and Mrs Mary Cripps of Salisbury, he was born at Hillside Plot, New Umtali in 1897. He joined the Second Rhodesia Regiment in East Africa in 1916 and when he retired in ill health returned to farm his property, The Park.

WAR SERVICE: He served through the Second World War in the Medical Corps in Salisbury. He was an active member of the Umtali Farmers' Association and the Eastern Districts Rifle Club.

In 1941 he married Miss Gladys S Hibbert, daughter of Mr & Mrs J Hibbert of Umtali. He leaves a widow and one daughter, three brothers and a sister. The funeral took place in Umtali this afternoon."
