Was 70 Years Old Harold Halversson, Operator of Kegonsa Resort, Is Dead

STOUGHTON - Harold S. Halverson, 70, Stoughton, operator of Halverson's Resort on Lake Kegonsa for about 35 years, died Thursday in a Stoughton hospital.

Mr. Halverson operated the resort with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Montague, Route 1, McFarland.

Mr. Halverson was born in Stoughton and married Bernice Watson of Stoughton in August 1915.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church here and the Madison Elks Lodge No. 410.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Donald, Stoughton; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Montague, Route 1, McFarland; Mrs. Hollis Moree, West Palm Beach, Fla; Mrs. Robert Speckmann, Pasadena, Calif.; and Mrs. Edward Mueller, Waunakee; 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Christ Lutheran Church, Stoughton, with the Rev. Robert Furreboe officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn cemetery, Madison.

Friends may call at the Edison Olson funeral home, Stoughton, from 4 p.m. today until noon Saturday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Madison Elks Lodge will conduct memorial rites tonight at 8:30 in the funeral home here.
