Harold Berlan Jackson

My Father was a musician with Cab Calloway, Billy Williams, The Charlie Fuquie Ink Spots and a stand in Base player on occasion for Duke Ellington. When he was a young man in his late teens or early 20's he attended Julliard school of Music in NY with Nate King Cloes younger brother Eddie Cole. My father was studying classical music and the violin until Edie Cole suggested to the school that my father replace him the the school band and play the stand up base. My fathers blood line through his Mother: Delight Pattersom Patterson Pettiford and her Mother Mary Elizabeth Pettiford of the Edmound Pettiford and Nathaniel Basse family of MC and Va. Through his fathers side Leroy Gordon Jackson: from Ontario Canada and Angelina Campbell and John Jackson. He passed in his home in Pasadena in December of 2012.
