About Harold Herman Lager
Harry Lager, 82, Maryville, Missouri (formerly of Guilford, Missouri) died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St Joseph, Missouri. He was born January 18, 1925 in Clyde, Missouri the son of Joseph Frederick and Mary Magdeline (Stoll) Lager. A high school graduate Harry attended college and served in the US Army with the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. On February 22, 1949 Harry married Mercedes Theresa Henggeler in Conception, Missouri. He was a retired farmer and maintenance man at Conception Abbey for many years. A member of St Gregory Barbarigo Parish, Maryville, Missouri and formerly a member of St Columba Parish, Conception Junction, Missouri he was also member of the Tri C American Legion Post #464, Conception Junction. Harry was preceded in death by two daughters: Lois Pierson in 1984 and Anita Lewis in 2002, his parents and five brothers: Vitus, Robert, Barney, Leonard and Joe Lager. Survivors include his wife: Mercedes Lager, of their home; sons and daughters-in-law: Ed and Jody Lager, and Robert and LaRee Lager, all of Barnard, Missouri; daughters and sons-in-law: Jeanne Murray, Ashland, Missouri; Lori and Jeff Hayden, Platte City, Missouri and Patty and Pete Trull, Paola, Kansas; 18 grandchildren; 5 great- grand- children; brother and sisters: Mildred Arendziak, Chicago, Illinois; Sylvester Lager, St. Joseph, Missouri and Marge Juhl, Phoenix, Arizona; many nieces and nephews. Visitation is 6-7pm Monday, December 3, 2007, at St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, with a prayer service at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial is 10am Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at St Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction; Burial is in St Columba Cemetery, Conception, Missouri. The Tri-C American Legion Post #464, Conception Junction will conduct Military Services at graveside. Memorials may be made to Conception Abbey, Conception, Missouri in Harry’s name.
