Brewster: Harold A. Raymond, 97, died, December 21, at Royal Megansett Nursing home in North Falmouth. He was the husband of Jane S. (Dakin) Raymond since 1979, and was previously the husband of Ruth R. (Sturdy) Raymond, who died in 1974, they were married in 1934.
Mr. Raymond was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, raised in Wrentham and attended Boston University, earning a bachelor of business degree in 1928 and a master business administration in 1934. He became a certified public accountant and worked for Hood Rubber Co. and B.F. Goodrich Corp. in Watertown for 41 years, retiring in 1968. He and his first wife lived in Arlington, before moving to Wellesley in 1941 and Chatham in 1968. He and his second wife, lived in Brewster and Bonita Springs, Florida. As a Mason, he was a lifelong member of the Pequosette Lodge, Watertown. Harold was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed time with his family. Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Andrew of Delmar, New York; a daughter, Nancy Kania of Forestdale; a sister, Ethel Weber of Blue Ridge, Georgia; two grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be in spring, followed by burial in Peoples Cemetery, Chatham. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society or to the charity of one's choice.
