Harold Joseph Scallon

Ackley — Word was received in Ackley Tuesday of the death of Harold Scallon at Williams. He was the eldest son of Mrs. Laura Scallon and the late William Scallon; was born in April, 1912, and married Berniece Meyer Feb. 20, 1941; for a few years they made their home on a farm west of Austinville, or five miles northeast of Ackley, moving later to Williams, where he purchased a farm: leaves widow, two small children, his mother, two sisters, Miss Jeanette, R.N., Mercy hospital, Waverly; Mrs. Richard Balch, Stockton, Cal; four brothers, Rev. Maurice Scallon, Waterloo; Hugh and Leo, Ackley, and Nicholas, student at Iowa State college, Ames; funeral, 10 a. m. Friday in the Catholic church at Williams; burial in St. Mary's cemetery here.
