Daughter of Joseph & Nancy Fenn. Married Wilbur Fisk Sanders October 27, 1858

Harriet attended Lake Erie College. In 1863, she and her husband, along with their children traveled to Montana by steamboat, arriving in Fort Benton. A memoir published from her diaries of the trip is called "Biscuits and Badmen."

She was well-known in social circles and promoted the suffrage movement as well as other issues dear to her. Her husband was a U.S. Senator from Montana. She died suddenly during a trip to Butte.

She was also known for her artwork.
