ADAMS COUNTIAN DIES FROM GUNSHOT WOUND Harry Franklin Carbaugh, 26. Franklin Towruhlp, Discovered Dead By His Wife
Harry Franklin Carbaugh 26 year-old orchard worker, was found dead yesterday afternoon in a bedroom in his home in Franklin township, between Arendtsville and Cashtown.
Death was due to a shotgun wound in the head. Dr. E A. Miller. Adams county coroner, who issued the death certrflcate. said the young man had died by his own hand.
The shooting occurred yesterday afternoon at about 3 o'clock. The report of the gun was heard by Mrs. Viola May Cairbaugh wife of the victim, who was removing clothing from a line in the yard at the time. Investigating she found her husband's body upon the bed.
Dr. Lott Boyer. Arondtsville. was summoned and pronounced the man dead. Coroner Miller, who was then called, said that he had died instantly. The charge had struck the right side of his face.
Financial worries prompted the act, members of the family were reported as saying.
Carbaugh had been employed on farms in Franklin township for the past six years. Last Friday he worked
on the John Bream farm. He had been married to the former Viola May Rlggeal for the past flve years. For nearly two years they had resided on the Franklin township farm, Prior to that they lived In the Cashtown hotel.
The deceased was a son of Arbtn and Annie May (Henry) Carbaugh. who reside in Cashtown. He was a member of Flohr's Lutheran church.
Surviving are the widow, the parents, and three sisters. Hazel and Blanche Carbaugh, who reside with their parents, and Mrs. John Hartzell. Hilltown.
The funeral will be held on Thursday with services at the home of the parents in Cashtown at 10 o'clock. The Rev. George Berkheimer. Arendtsville. will officiate.
Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery, Arendtsville.
Friends may call at the Arbin Carbaugh home on Wednesday evening.
