"Funeral services for Harry E. Rounds, 78, of 695 E. Lake Rd., who died Saturday, were yesterday from the Castelluzzo Funeral Home. Burial was in Grace Willowdale Cemetery, Town of Fayette. The Rev. Earl Schmiesing, pastor of the Calvary Lutheran Church of Waterloo officiated." (Geneva Times, 4 October 1973)
"Funeral services for Harry E. Rounds, 78, of 695 E. Lake Rd., who died in Geneva General Hospital Saturday night following a long illness, will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Castelluzzo Funeral Home. Burial will be in Willowdale Cemetery in Fayette, where the Rev. Earl Schmiesing will officiate.
Mr. Rounds was born in Auburn and moved to Syracuse where he was captain of the fire department for 25 years. From 1946-57, he was the fire chief in Sampson. Following this period he worked at the Seneca Army Depot until his retirement in 1960. Mr. Rounds was the director of the Seneca Auto Club and a member of the Seneca County Fire Advisory Board as well as honorary assistant chief of the W. Lake Rd. Fire Dept.
Surviving are his wife, Marian Keiber Rounds; one sister, Mrs. Maude Rounds Cool; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Schond and Mrs. Oliver Weinsheimer, both of Ithaca; three granddaughters and two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews." (Geneva Times, 1 October 1973)
