About Harvey H. Smith

Harvey H. Smith, a World War I veteran, Womelsdorf RD 1, died at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at the Lebanon VA Hospital after a lingering illness. He was 76. Born in North Annville Twp., he was a son of the late Ezra H. and Amanda Hoke Smith. Smith was a former member of the Lebanon police force and was a member of the Haag VFW Post 387, Reading, and the Trivoli Beneficial Association. He is survived by two sons, Walter E., Reading; Harvey M., San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Gertrude, wife of Robert Shears, Sinking Springs, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held this morning for Harvey H. Smith, Womelsdorf RD 1, from the Rohland Parlors, Fifth and Cumberland Sts. The Rev. Alden G. Biely, pastor of Hebron Evangelical United Brethren Church, was in charge. Burial was made at Fairland Cemetery. [Lebanon Daily News, Saturday August 12, 1967]
