About Hayes Thacker
Hayes Thacker
Hayes Thacker, 66, of Stone, died this morning at the Williamson Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Born Jan. 22, 1911, at Fishtrap, Ky., he was the son of Will and Nancy Adkins Thacker. He was a retired miner and a member of the Stone Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kelsie Sullivan Thacker, and a daughter, Emogene Hughes of Huddy, Ky.
Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Virgie Meadows of Lexington, Ohio; Berlin Thacker of Stone; Daniel Thacker of Lafayette, Ohio; and Lawrence Thacker of Logan.
Additional survivors include the following half-brothers and half-sisters: Mrs. Geneva Harmon, Earl Thacker, Allen Thacker and Eugene Thacker, all of Kimper, Ky.
Also surviving are two granddaughters, Sandra Kay Meade of Williamson and Edith Ilene Deskins of Stone, along with two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, where friends may call after 6 p.m. today.

Thacker services
Funeral services for Hayes Thacker, 66, of Stone, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Stone Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Sid Copley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.
Friends may call at the funeral home, where special services will be held at 7 this evening.
Thacker, the son of the late Will and Nancy Adkins Thacker, who died Tuesday in the Williamson Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
