About Hazel Sophrona Bell
Mrs. Hazel B. Bell, age 81, Glenwood, Georgia, died early Thursday morning, August 27, 1998 in the Wheeler County Hospital of Glenwood after an extended illness.
Mrs. Bell was a native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County. She was a retired inspector with a clothing manufacturer, a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Glenwood.
Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Oswalt, Glenwood; one sister, Louise Stegall, Augusta, Georgia; one brother, J.H. Browning, Dublin, Georgia; one granddaughter, Sandra Manning, Asheville, North Carolina; and two great-grandsons, David and Daniel Manning, Asheville.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon, August 29, 1998 in Ronnie L. Stewart & Son Funeral Service, Glenwood Chapel with the Reverend C.B. Easterlin and the Reverend Jasper Hill officiating. Interment followed in the Glenwood City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Pope, Craig Butler, Jimmy Haygood, Michael Manning, William Pope and Donnie Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Montford, Ernest Clark, J.R. Screws, Clifford Pat Screws, Labay Corbin, Bobby Dixon, Billy Dixon, Leon Pope, Chuck Morgan, Jack Wooten and DeWitt Corbin.
