Mrs. Jensen of Grand Junction died of natural causes Wednesday in Community Care Center in Grand Junction. She was 85.
She owned and operated the Jensen Flamingo Lounge. She was a lifetime Grand Junction resident.
She was born April 26, 1909, to Charles F. and Libbie Madison Schmidt in Grand Junction where she spent her childhood and attended school. She attended college in the East.
She married AL Otis Jensen, He is deceased.
Mrs. Jensen loved animals, especially her five dogs and two parrots. She taught music, accordion and violin. She was an avid deer hunter and raised rabbits and canaries. She was a cab driver for her father when she was just 13 years old. She also was a truck driver for her father and hauled everything from furniture to dynamite. Earlier in life she owned and operated the Virginia Hotel in Grand Junction.
Survivors include a stepson, Jay 0. Jensen, two granddaughters and two adopted sons, Ralph and Clyde.
Two sons, Allen Jensen and Richard Otis Jensen are deceased.
McLean Funeral Home in Palisade is in charge of arrangements.
