Heinrich "Henry" Mattern was born in Macungie (now Lower Macungie) Twp., Northampton (now Lehigh) Co., PA.
He was the son of Johann Peter Mattern and Catharina Walbert.
He married Esther Schneider abt 1814 in Upper Mahantongo Twp., Schuylkill Co., PA.
Henry lived with his daughter, Eliza Kiehl, in the latter years of his life. He died in Oliver Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
NOTE: Some researchers have a baptism for Heinrich as 20 Jun 1773 (b. 26 Apr 1773) - taken from Lehigh Church records - but this date is not supported by any of the U.S. Federal Census records from 1790-1870.
NOTE: A tombstone could not be found for Henry Mattern.
