MRS. HELEN L. DOANE 69 " OLDTIMER" Member

Marblehead- Mrs. Helen L. Doane 69, 6 Edgewood Road, died Thursday in Mary A. Alley Hospital. She was the wife of Frank L. Doane.

Born in Marblehead, she was the daughter of Ernest Homan and Lucy (Howard) Dixey. She had been a lifelong resident of Marblehead. Mrs. Doane was a member of the Marblehead Old Timers Society, which authored and published " Hollyhocks to Hot Top" a book on old Marblehead and its residents.

She is survived by one son, William R. Doane of Marblehead: two brothers, Roger Dixey and Ernest Dixey both of Marblehead: three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Bishop and Mrs. Dorothy Finch both of Marblehead and Mrs. Florence Gerow of Marine City, Mich.: three grandchildren: one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private.

Funeral services will be private. Visiting hours at the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, Saturday 3-5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
