Samantha Bowers Knapp, widow of Thos. J. Knapp, who died Jan. 3rd of last year, died at her home at Glen Wild, Tuesday a.m., Jan. 22nd, 1907, after an illness of one week, with grip terminating in pneumonia; aged 73 years. She was born at Glen Wild, a daughter of Hon. John H. Bowers, a former Member of Assembly from this county. She leaves surviving her, seven children: Ida, wife of Jas. A. Cauthers, M.D., of Monticello; Mrs. Clarence Stratton, of South Fallsburgh; Mrs. Geo. W. Warren, of Centerville Station; Mrs. Alex Calhoun, of Glen Wild; Edward, Sanford and Eva at home; also two brothers and two sisters: Mary E. and Eugene, at Glen Wild and Mrs. Nettie Littell, of Scranton, Pa., and John, of Wilcox, Pa. Funeral at the Glen Wild M. E. church, of which she was a member, on Saturday at one p.m. She was a kind, christian wife and mother; a charitable neighbor and a good woman in every sense of the word.
