Helen I. Lambeth, 97 of Griggsville, IL passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at Liberty Village in Pittsfield. Helen was born in Caurthersville, MO on November 12, 1916, a daughter of George E. and Katheryn Hollenstiener McClellan. She was the beloved wife of Ernest L. Lambeth, marrying him on February 12, 1938 in Caurthersville, MO. Ernest preceded her in death October 12, 2003.

Helen was raised in Missouri and had worked for Brown Shoe Company where she met her husband. They moved to Pleasant Hill in 1945, later moving to Griggsville. She was a homemaker and a "farmers' wife" and had also worked for Illini Community Hospital in the Dietary Department. She was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church. She loved butterflies and her cats, enjoyed crocheting and had to ability of sewing clothes without a pattern. Ernest would plant Helen a vegetable garden and she would can quantities of vegetables for her family. Helen dearly loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Iris (Ray) Claycomb of Griggsville; Carolyn (Don) Ranft of Winchester; Fred (Deborah) Lambeth of Griggsville; Peggy Sue (Mike) Quincy of Griggsville and Dick (Debra) Lambeth of Griggsville. Eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive. Helen was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Griggsville Cemetery with Bro. Al Laird officiating. There will be no visitation.
