Helen was raised in East Chicago, Indiana. Her mother Mary immigrated from Poland, maybe Olsztyn. Helen was raised with her half-siblings Frances and Iggy. Helen is the blonde girl on the far right of photo above.

Grandmother Helen wrote her obituary several years ago and did not include family history. The following information is an addendum to honor celebrate my grandmother's life, her Polish heritage, relatives who mourn her passing, and realtives interested in family history.
Helen Langowski was born in Indiana Harbor (East Chicago) 10 Nov 1908. She died at the VNA Mary Bartz Hospice Center, Valparaiso IN on 26 Jan 2000. Helen had been hospitalized on Christmas Eve 1999, moved back to her residence home the Whispering Pines Health Care Center skilled nursing unit, and finally to the hospice on Sat, 22 Jan 2000.
Helen married Erman 'Dutch' Roher on 28 Mar 1925 in Crown Point IN. They resided in East Chicago near Helen's sister Frances until July 1942 when Erman moved his family to Anderson Road near Long Lake, Valparaiso IN. Daughters Louise, Bette, and Lucille graduated from Valparaiso High School.
Helen and Erman visited often with his relatives Leo and Alma Grace Druckamiller, Syracuse IN.

Erman was raised by his biological uncle Clarence Jessie Druckamiller and wife Louise Newman.
Helen was an extraordinary wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked away from her home at different times, Strongbow's Inn and the Eigelsbach grocery in Valpo. Helen was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and active in the Trinity Guild, Friendly Social, Willing Workers, and RSVP.
