She graduated from Marshall High School. ---On November 22, 1935, she married James J. Monk on November 22, 1935. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2011. ---Mrs. Monk was a homemaker staying home to raise her family. She was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending the winters in Florida. ---She is survived by her children, James (Dorothy) Monk of Homer, Katherine (Ken) Kelly of Lansing, William (Kathy) Monk of Marshall, and John (Linda) Monk of Homer; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marian Orwig of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson Scott Monk; brothers, Wayne Tadman and John Tadman. ---A memorial mass will take place at 11am on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 214 South Eagle Street, Marshall, with Reverend Father Stephen Naas officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery. Family will gather with friends following the committal services at the Marshall Moonraker, 11401 17 Mile Road, Marshall. ---Memorial contributions are requested to the Indian Trails Camp.
