Helen Rokotz

Helen Anastasia Rokotz, 90, of Simpson, died Thursday at home. She was the widow of Peter Rokotz, who died in 2015.

Born in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Natalie Zrowka Herchick. She attended Fell High School, Simpson. Helen lived most of her working life in the Passaic, N.J., area. She had attended St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church, Simpson.

Surviving are a son, Peter M. Rokotz, Simpson, with whom she resided; a daughter, Barbara Permuy, Guttenberg, N.J.; two grandchildren, Charlene and Gillion; and a great-grandson, Aaron Peter; a great-granddaughter, Birdy Sue; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Peter, John, Michael, Joseph, Basil and Samuel.

There will be a visitation Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson. A Parastas service will be held Monday at 4:45 by the Very Rev. Mitred Archpriest David J. Hritcko. ~ Scranton Times, 07-Jan-2017
