FERTILE, Minn.– Helen Rost, 75 Fertile, formerly of Erskine, Minn., died Wednesday, March 29, 1997 in Fair Meadow Nursing Home Fertile, where she had lived since 1996.

Helen Marie Dounley was born May 21, 1921, the daughter of Peter and Synneva (Kappedal) Dounley, in Woodside Township, Polk County, Minn., where she grew up and attended school. She married Olaf Edward Nyquist May 22, 1946. They lived and raised their family in Woodside Township. Olaf Nyquist died in 1958. Helen married Vernon Rost Jan. 7, 1973 in Fertile. They lived in Erskine. Vernon Rost died in 1991.

She is survived by sons Curtis Nyquist, Kenai, Alaska, Gregory Nyquist, Anchorage Alaska, and Roger Nyquist, Minneapolis; and sisters Gertie Dulski, Crookston, and Pearl Barett, Painted Post, New York.

She was preceded in death by a son Paul, two sisters and six brothers.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday in Maple lake Church, Fertile.

Visitation: 5 to 7p.m. Sunday with a 3:30 p.m. prayer service, in Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home Erskine, and one hour before services in the church.

Burial: Church Cemetery in the spring.
