Helen Irene Whitney

Helen Irene Marshall was born on April 23, 1921 to Paul & Irene Marshall in Leslie, MI. She was raised on a farm outside Leslie and graduated from the high school in Leslie. On May 1, 1942 she married Morris H. Whitney (July 20, 1919 – Sept. 5, 2007).

Helen Irene Whitney of Magnolia, Ark, formerly of Leslie, passed away at home on November 6, 1995, at age 74.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Morris H; one daughter Nonda (James) Weber of Leslie; 2 sons, Craig (Tao) Whitney of Bangkok, Thailand, and Scott Whitney of Leslie, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grand children; 2 sisters, Lois Smoyer and Doris Gamarra of Chula Vista, Cal.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Lyle and Marvin Marshall.

Mrs. Whitney was retired from Aeroquip Corporation of Jackson. She was a member of the Leslie Congregational United Church of Christ where memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 12 with Rev. William E. Hoch officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leslie Congregational United Church of Christ, Memorial Fund.
