HELEN JACOBSON WILLIAMS Helen Jacobson Williams, 69, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at her son's residence in Lincoln, N.D. Williams was born Nov. 15, 1929, in Chinook, to Haldor and Gunhild Jacobson. She attended school on the family homestead north of Zurich and Chinook. She also attended Northern Montana College for secretarial schooling. On Aug. 21, 1949, she married John E. Williams. The couple resided at Lohman and later at the Williams family farm east of Havre, until 1959, when they moved to Tempe, Ariz. In 1963, they returned to Havre and managed the family farm. He died in 1985. In 1986, she moved to Phoenix where she resided until shortly before her death. Williams was employed at several local businesses as a bookkeeper and office manager. She ran the Intermountain Bus Depot in Havre for many years. After relocating to Mesa, Ariz., she returned to school to become computer literate and then was employed at a public accountant's office until her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, doing crossword puzzles, reading, and playing cards. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble or cribbage with her grandchildren. She also helped get the first annual Community Christmas Dinner started in Havre. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, her parents, brothers, John and Cato. Survivors include sons, Ed Williams of Lincoln, N.D., and Gordon Williams of Bozeman; a daughter, Marion Williams of Havre; sisters, Margaret Krawitz of Gilbert, Ariz., and Gerd Callant of Big Timber; brothers, Harold of Columbus, Martin of Dallas, Texas, and Gordon of Shelton, Wash.; three grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
