She and her husband had one child who died quite young, and for whom they mourned for the rest of their lives. She was the daughter of Francis Drexel, Sr.
After her death in 1895, she left her estate, Oakbourne, in Westtown Township, Chester County, to the Protestant Episcopal City Mission, who turned the estate into the James C. Smith Memorial Home for Convalescent Women. Today, the estate is known as Oakbourne Park.
