Hendrick Rosenkrans, christened 28 Apr 1674 in Kingston, Ulster, New York. He married twice; 1st to Annetje Vredenburgh and 2nd to Antje (d'Elba) (de Wit) Benschoten. Hendrick Rosekranse lived in Kingston and then Rochester, Ulster County, New York.

The 1728 list of freeholders in Ulster County includes "Hendrick Roosecrans" still living at Rochester. Still there eleven years later when on 5 October 1739, he was appointed Administor of the will for his son-in-law, Ariaen Osterhoudt. His death date is not known.

Family

Hendrick Rosekrans was born circa 1670 at New York.2 He was baptized on 28 April 1674 at New York.2

He married (1) Annatje Van Vredenburgh, daughter of William Isaacszen Vredenburg and Appolonia Barent, on 3 January 1697 at Kingston, NY.1,2

Hendrick Rosekrans married (2) Annatje Delva, daughter of Anthony Delva and Jannetje Hillebrants, on 26 October 1721.1,2

Lucas DeWitt was Captain and co-owner of a Dutch sloop with Hendrick's father.1

Apparently someone got the two Annetje confused. Annetje Vredenburgh was the mother of his twin sons, Alexanser and Ysaac. (Antje "Dela Val" is probably identical to Antje Dulleva/Delva/D'elba/D'Elba, maiden name of his 2nd wife.

Family notes

On 26 October 1721, on which date he married second wife, Antje Van Benschoten, the widow of Gerrit Van Buntschooten. According to William Henry Van Benschoten, this was Antje's third marriage. She was born Antje Delva/D'elba, married 1st on Dec 22, 1695 to Lucas de Wit who died in 1703, and married 2nd to Gerrit Bunschoten who died before Aug 22, 1712.[3]
