About Henry Eldridge or Aldridge or Arledge

From the research files of Pam Wilson <wilsonpam@mindspring.com>:

This Henry (we might call him Henry II) was likely born in the early 1770s in Randolph Co, NC. However, he was not listed with his parents in the 1790 census so he was likely already on his own, though not enumerated as far as I've been able to find. Perhaps he was recently married and living with a wife's family.

In 1793, a Henry was the first ARLEDGE on the grantee list of land records in Randolph Co, NC. (Book 5, p. 77, deed from Jeremia Cox for 300 acres). In 1814, Henry Aldridge to William Humphreys, deed for 300 acres (Book 13, p. 75).

This Henry appears to have been the son of Henry Arledge (d 179) and Sarah Garner of Randolph Co, NC who then migrated to Pendleton District, SC before 1814, where his name was spelled alternately ALDRIDGE and ELDRIDGE in the same document. This document was filed in Randolph Co, NC.
